![]() ![]() You dont have to care for whatever nvidia experience is, but its actually gonna notify you when you need to update your GPU drivers so this does not happen again. So - once again this is only if your graphics card is nvidia - go to and click download now to get it. It also just so happens that the latest update as steamVR, as it does update the compositor, requires the latest GPU drivers for Nvidia (or probably something close to it). Windows (or whatever operating system you have) will probably not tell you when your GPU drivers are out of date, even when they are. All I had to do was update my gpu drivers! Alright, if you had an nvidia graphics card and you are having this issue, listen up. After 3 days and 2 messages to steam support I finally fixed this stupid compositor error. (Error: Shared IPC Compositor Connect Failed (306))" This has been incredibly infuriating, as I have spent the past few hours trying multiple different things to no avail. ![]() Every time I launch SteamVR, it says "Compositor not available" and then shortly after, it says "SteamVR has failed to initiate for unknown reasons.
